I think "Commie-La" is going to lose, BIG TIME. She has worked so hard - fabricating her history, wearing blackface, and Mistress of Word Salad - to earn this failure it would be wrong to deny it to her!

Dear everyone,
Gorb asked it first:
Natas, what is your point?
My point is that not everyone thought as much of the Reverend Penton as he did of himself. I was not one of his fans. He had an "xtians only" worldview and enjoyed hiding behind firewalls where he could mock atheists without fear of rebuttal, because his chosen site was "xtians only". Some of you might remember that I tracked down and met with "Timothy White," who wrote "A eople For His Name" in 1968. Tim told me that Penton had plagarized part of Tim's book; Penton denied this. I believe Tim.
OK, Penton's books have helped people. But really it wasn't PENTON who helped them, it was the FACTS that helped people see the TRUTH. Remember that when Penton left the JWs he sought to gather his own flock unto him. FLOCK THAT! We are free human beings not followers of men!
If you had to choose a person who was most helpful to the XJW community, who would you choose: Professor Penton or the subdued and nearly anonymous Atlantis?
I put Penton in a class adjacent to Juan Pinecone (he whose name must not be spoken).
You needn't agree with me, but I'll bet Farkel would have.

Atheist philosopher Philip Goff becomes a Christian
by slimboyfat inphilip goff, professor of philosophy at durham university, in the past few weeks has said that he has become a christian of a fairly liberal and perhaps somewhat heretical variety.
it’s been a long journey from staunch atheism in his teens, to questioning the basis of his atheism and a purely materialist conception of reality as a professor of philosophy specialising in consciousness, to now considering himself a christian.
he says it’s the result of coming to terms with the fact that atheists and theists both have good arguments and looking for a middle ground that accommodates the best arguments of both.

Here's what I think:
If he's the guy in the photo above, he is past the bloom og youthful manly vigor.
He's balding. What other personal tragedies has he recently experienced?
Weak men look for crutches when faced with adversity. A cross makes a fair crutch, even if it has some dude nailed to it.
I'm not influenced by weaklings. I'm 75 and have a big part of The Catalog Of Human Ills on my plate, but what you won't find on my plate is a piece of unleavened bread and a nice Chianti.
Rejoice, weak Xtians! Soon enough I'll be dead. So will you.

Cuban Underwater City: update
by Nathan Natas inlink: http://www.unknowncountry.com/news/?id=2039.
will we ever learn about cuban underwater city?.
one reason we're not getting more information about what looks like a cuban underwater city is that for paul weinzweig and his wife paulina zelitsky of advanced digital communications (adc), exploring it is only a sidelinethe company has been hired to hunt for shipwrecks filled with gold and jewels, and to find oil and natural gas reserves.

Sheesh! Twenty two years ago?
To be brief, I believe this merits further investigation if and when possible, but this isn't "Atlantis."
If you want Atlantis, see the Azores Islands.

Gosh, I posted that 20 years ago!
While it may be for sure that SOMETHING was there off the coast of Spain, I now believe that the civilization we call "Atlantis" absolutely DID EXIST, that it was located in the Atlantic Ocean where the Azores remain today, and that it may have been a victim of what we call the "Younger Dryas Impact Theory."
I'd let you know what I think 20 years from now, but I'll be dead by then. We all will die someday.

Ages of each user here?
by ukpimo ini'm interested to know the age demographics here.
it must be significantly different to other exjw forums.
it would be a damning report for watchtower if most of us appear to have left for decades.. you don't have to mention your exact age, you could always say "in my 50s".. i am in my 70s.

I'll be 75 in a couple of weeks.
Originally from New York City. I left in the mid-1970s when I learned that there was a SERIAL PEDOPHILE in the Middle Village congregation in Queens. The elders covered up the scandal and allowed the pedophile to teach from the platform, lead the congregation in prayer, etc. I learned that years later this POS began partaking at the Memorial! When I learned of the cover-up I realized that there was no righteousness in The Watchtower.
So I've been OUT for about 50 years... best life EVER! I've been here for 23 years so far...

I have to nominate Stanley F'in Weigel for this honor. He served in NYC during the 60s-7-s (time approximate). I think my friend ShirleyW will remember him. Shirley and I didn't know each other back then, but I met her on Six Screens and from her comments realized we were contemporaries.
Weigel was a really puffed-up piece of work, full of himself and eager to publicly embarass ANY member of the congregation for any minor reason. Being a total P.O.S., he floated toward the top of the Watchtower cistern, becoming something like City Servant last I heard. By now I'm sure he's dead, and millions are grateful.
On the opposite side of the spectrum we have Paul Haviland, who seemed to be a very good man.
